Welcome to the Post 92 website. You may be visiting our website today to get some information about the American Legion. The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veteran’s organization. We have nearly 3 million members and over 15, 000 posts spread throughout the world. If you are looking for general information about the legion, then I would like to direct you to the national website at www.legion.org. Here you can locate information regarding the history of the American Legion, national programs that the legion sponsors, and many links to services that the American Legion supports.
I would like to take this time to thank everyone who voted me in as Post Commander for the year of 2009-2010. I am looking forward to leading the post members, Aux. and SALs through a fun and exciting year. As well, I'm looking forward to helping out more veterans and their families this year.
I want to make sure everyone is aware that Post 92 has the great honor and pleasure of having the State of Washington Service Officer of the year; JOY FINLEY. Thank you for all your hard work and Cal's hard work also.
September brings in our breakfast and Prime Rib Dinners again. The first Sunday of the month for breakfast, which Sue Sill will be leading this year. Our Prime Rib Dinners will be lead by Ray and Jennie Garrioch for the year.
Thank you to all who are taking the challenge for this year. I know it’s a lot of hard work, but the pay off is a great reward for our local children scholarships.
Post 92 will also need volunteers for each of the special events, which we cannot do with out you and your time.
I want to thank the Aux. and Tammy Douglas for taking charge of the firework stands this year. Sales were down a little, but the economy did not help. Also, thank you to everyone that gave their time in helping set up, taking down and selling, Post 92, SAL’s, Aux, and the Legion Riders. Thank you.
I'm hoping everyone will pull together as members and guide Post 92 to being a family orientated place, while having our community recognize how great a place we live in, the Stanwood and Camano Island area.
I'm looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve in the next year as we pull together as one Post, Aux, SAL’s, and the Legion Riders which make up POST 92.
Sincerely,
Terry Hislop
